Look how great this trifle bowl is!  It has a removable stand!  Why is this so great?  Well not only can you use it as just a bowl or a trifle bowl, or as a great centerpiece…but when you do use it, it will fit in the fridge!  This is a bonus for me.  A few weeks ago I made a dessert to take to a family dinner but when I arrived and said it needed to go in the fridge ASAP, it wouldn’t fit because the stand made it too tall.  Problem solved!

On Sunday, I went to my sister’s house and brought a GREAT trifle.  I didn’t have a trifle bowl so I just put it in a clear bowl.  See!  I NEED this.  Not only is it on SALE! but look!

It has a LID!

Today I am wishing for this Pampered Chef Trifle Bowl.  I am so in love with it and promise to make delicious desserts in it if I am lucky enough to receive it.  (My birthday is coming up…HINT! HINT!)

In honor of my love for this trifle bowl, here is the recipe for the most amazing trifle…the dessert I made for family dinner last Sunday.  Everyone loved it.  We practically licked the bowl clean.  You want this recipe…PINKY SWEAR!

Delicious Strawberry Banana Trifle

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons strawberry gelatin powder
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 pint fresh strawberries, sliced (I used one 16 oz bag of frozen strawberries, thawed and sliced)
  • 1 3/4 cups cold milk
  • 1 package (3.4 ounces) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 3 medium firm bananas, sliced (You could add another 1 or two if you want…it wouldn’t over do it)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 6 cups cubed angel food cake (I used a boxed angel food cake mix and cut up the entire thing.  You could also use a store bought cake.
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream, whipped (I bought a small tub of cool whip and thawed it in the fridge before using it)
  • Additional strawberries or banana slices, optional

Directions

  • In a saucepan, combine the sugar, cornstarch and gelatin; stir in water until smooth. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Remove from the heat. Stir in strawberries; set side.
  • In a large bowl, combine milk and pudding mix. Beat on low speed for 2 minutes set aside.
  • Toss bananas with lemon juice; drain and set aside.
  • Place half of the cake cubes in a trifle bowl or 3-qt. serving bowl. Layer with half of the pudding, bananas, strawberry sauce and whipped cream. Repeat layers. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Garnish with additional fruit if desired.

If you make this I would love to hear what you and your family/friends think.  (This is also a great low fat recipe!)

What are you wishing for today?
