I am about ready to get Beckham more diapers. I think he is ready for the next size because every time I go to change him the tabs on the waistband aren’t on the side on his hips. They have slipped and are more in the middle. Also he has more leaks than he used to. So my question is not, “is he ready for the next size”, but shoudl I get him the diapers that are for kids on the move? Like Little Movers? Or are those essentially the same thing as a normal diaper? I want my son to be comfy. He doesn’t get elastic marks or rubbed areas on his legs but where he is walking around like a mad man should he be in different diapers?
When we went to the doctors for Beckham’s 1 year check up he told us to stop giving Beckham formula and start giving him vitamin D milk. THANK YOU! That formula sucks my money right out of my wallet! He also told us to stop giving Beckham bottles, especially at night. I learned the reason for that is because baby’s ear canals are level instead of at an angle like adults. Because of this if a baby falls asleep with milk in their mouth there is a chance that it could get into their ear canals and not drain, since they aren’t at an angle. This would cause ear infections. I really want to get Beckham off of a baby at night but I can’t figure out how. I tried giving him milk in a sippy cup before bed but he won’t drink it. He will only drink water out of a sippy. So I bought some spill proof cups with straws but again he will only drink water out of it. Originally I thought if I could get him to drink his milk before bed and then put him in his crib I could get him off the bottle. But my tries have failed. he is at the point that if I show him a bottle he walks into his room and knows it is time to go to sleep. He drinks it, throws it over the edge, and lays down and sleeps. I feel okay about this because at least he swallows the last bit of milk before falling asleep. However, if he goes to bed late, like he did last night because we were at a concert, he falls asleep with the bottle in his mouth. He doesn’t have any teeth yet so I am not too worried about it affecting his teeth. I just want to get him off the bottle…not only because the doc said too but I don’t want my kid to be 2 and still need a bottle to fall asleep. Suggestions?
Here is the fun part for some moms…give me your best advice for a first time mom with a 14 month old. I am open to tips and tricks you learned along the way. Food tips like how to get him to eat his veggies, sleep tips like how to get him to sleep anywhere (right now he will only sleep in his crib or pack and play), or church tips like how to get him to sit/ make it through the whole thing. Lay it on me!
