Remember when I told you I was craving Frozen Hot Chocolate? Well…let’s just say I have the world’s greatest mother!

Ever since finding out we were pregnant Adam and I have wanted to take a babymoon. You know, a last chance trip before Felix makes his grand entrance. We talked about a few things but in the end decided to go to Disneyland! (Surprising huh!? he he)
We flew out on Sunday morning bright and early and arrived in California at 8:00 am. We picked up our rental car…a sporty little Dodge Charger…and headed straight to the hotel to drop it off. We went straight to Disneyland! Adam started the day off with Indiana Jones because it only had a 15 minute wait. I didn’t go, for safety reasons. Then we headed over to Pirates of the Caribbean, typically the first one of the trip.
It was so fun to be in the park with my hubby. We went on ride together and I waited for him on the bigger rides that I couldn’t go on. We ate until we were stuffed. We had churros, Mickey Bars, funnel cakes, ice cream, ice cream sandwiches, pretzels…the works!!
That afternoon we met up with Acting Up, SCERA’s youth theater, and attended their awards ceremony. They were in Disneyland for a competition….which is mostly the reason why this babymoon could happen. Adam really wanted to go and support the kids…I just talked him into making a day of it babymoon time
After some more Disney time we went to Acting Up’s fireside in Garden Grove. They did a great job. There were a lot of people there and the message was wonderful!
The next day we hit the park just as it opened and played with the Acting UP chaperones while the kids were in a workshop. After their workshop we played with them. Well mostly Adam did. You know teens, they only want to go on the “big” rides. Since I couldn’t do those I just sat and waited patiently. I know some of you might think “How boring”….not in Disneyland though. People watching is spectacular in Disneyland–plus my feet could use a rest!
We flew home with the kids that night. It was a short trip but it sure was fun to get one more trip in, just hubby and I. Next time we go there we will have a little guy to teach the Disney ways to. OOOO! That will be soooo fun!!!
While we were gone Max went and stayed at my mother-in-laws. Max and Marley love to play together! They play tag and chase each other around all day long when they play together. We picked Max up and brought her home. Check her out after 8 hours of sleep….still pooped!
So sweet! I sure love that little girl!

You know, the beginning of my pregnancy seemed to fly by! I don’t know what it was but I feel like it went by super quickly!! Now after my 20 week ultrasound and finding out that we are having a boy, it seems to be CRAWLING!!! I am talking like super super slow mo. I don’t get it. It seems like my friends who are pregnant are still moving along at a quick rate but not me. I am just at a stand still.
Why is that? Is it because I know what gender our baby is? Is it because I work and that time goes by slow? Is it because I haven’t started working on the nursery? Is it because my friends are getting ready to pop but I am 2 months behind them? Is it because I can’t feel Felix moving? Is it because we haven’t decided on a name? What is the deal?

After we found out we were having a boy we couldn’t hold it in. We called my mom and dad on their trip in Hawaii. I called all my sisters and my brother. I stopped at the store to pick up It’s a Boy “cigars” (bubblegum style) and cupcakes with “It’s a Boy” picks in them so we could tell our co-workers. We even ordered a cake to surprise my mother-in-law.
That night we took it over to her house.
Yellow and Orange. There was no way she could guess. She actually thought the orange was pink at first and started yelling, “A girl!? You are having a girl?!” ha ha Shelly is hilarious! (Just for the record, I have the BEST mother-in-law! Seriously she is the greatest!!)
She grabbed a knife and made the first cut. I thought for sure she would start freaking out because when she pulled it out there was frosting on the knife. Nope! She went in for another cut. I knew for sure this time she was freak. Nope! She put the knife with the colored frosting to the side, grabbed the spatula and pulled the piece out.
“Ah! A boy! You are having a boy! Oh I am so excited! I thought for sure it would be a girl. A boy! Hooray!” She was so happy. And if you know Shelly at all, you will know that this is as good of a picture I could get of her reaction

Here are pictures from Felix’s 3rd photo shoot. He is going to be a little cutie!!

When I saw this image come up on the screen I said to the technician, “Is that a boy?” She said “Yes. You are having a little boy.” I was so happy I started to cry and said to Adam, “We are having a little boy! That is just what we wanted!” We are sooo happy!
Here are his little arms and tiny little hands
During our ultrasound we also learned that my placenta is in the front. I guess the egg can plant in the front of the uterus, putting the placenta in the back or it can plant in the back, putting the placenta in the front. When it is in the front it is called Anterior Placenta…this happens in 25-30% of pregnancies. It isn’t anything to worry about though. The baby doesn’t care which side of the uterus his is lying on. Really the only thing that changes is I can’t feel the kicks and punches as early as others. The doctors described it like Felix was kicking and punching a pillow.
Every once in a while I can feel a little kick or punch but mostly it feels like a light poke. We were told that I probably wouldn’t start to feel Felix moving regularly until about week 28 and Adam wouldn’t be able to feel it until week 32! Can you believe that?! He might as well wait until Felix is born…ha ha! I guess it is kind of nice though because at least the kicking and punching doesn’t keep me up at night. I just wish I could feel him wiggling and jiggling around more.
“If, however, you have an anterior placenta that is also lying quite low in your uterus, it could partially or completely block off the cervix (and the baby’s way out), a condition called placenta previa (which can make a cesarean section necessary). But again, because the placenta generally migrates around in the uterus quite a bit during pregnancy, a low-lying placenta will very often have moved into the upper part of the uterus — and safely out of the baby’s way — by the time you’re ready to deliver.” Hopefully I don’t have any issues. Fingers crossed. My friend Meghan just had a rough ending to her pregnancy because of placenta previa. Read her story!
Well I guess we will take him however we will get him. I just hope it is more on the easy side

Dear Hubby-
I was reading “What To Expect When You’re Expecting” and saw something I wanted to share with you.
“Never again will it be so easy to vacation with your baby. Fast-forward to next year when you’ll be lugging a car seat, diapers, toys and child-proofing kits wherever you go, and you’ll see why. And there’s no better time for pregnant travel than the second trimester. After all, the fatigue, queasiness, and emotional extremes of the first trimester are behind you — but you’re not yet at the point where your belly has a life of its own, making it hard enough to drag yourself around, never mind the luggage.
So don’t have reservations about those reservations you’ve made. But before you pack your suitcase, do get the go-ahead from your practitioner. Chances are your vacation plans will be green-lighted, since travel is rarely restricted during pregnancy unless there’s an obstetrical or medical complication.
Once you’ve been cleared for takeoff, you’ll only need to do a little planning to ensure a safe and pleasant expectant voyage, whether it’s a quick business trip or a leisurely babymoon. ”
Honey, it continues to go into details for the next three pages and if you want to read about it, it is book marked and waiting on the coffee table for you
Love-
Wife
Was that a big enough hint?

When I was 5 weeks along two of my first time moms-to-be wanted to know what we were all having. There are tons of wives tales out there so we thought we would give it a shot. We went for the crystal drano gender test. Here is how it works:

(we put a plastic bag underneath for easy disposal)
(make sure to do this outside as there will be fumes and they WILL smell)

If the mixture darkens to a brownish color within the first 10 seconds – It is a boy.
If there is no darkening or color change after 10 – 15 seconds – It is a girl.
So here are our results:
(this is actually test #2….we weren’t sure if we believed this so we did it twice and got the same results BOTH times)
From left to right..Rachel, Trisha, Me
Trisha knew what she was having…a girl…just like the test said. Rachel found out the next week that she was having a boy….just like the test said.
So what do you think? Think I am having a boy like the test says?
Here are some others:
The Telltale Carry–Legend has it that if you’re carrying low, you’re carrying a boy; a higher bump means a little girl. I feel like I am carrying low…boy.
Heart Rate Decoder–This old wives’ tale claims that the fetal heart rate of a girl will exceed 140, while that of a boy will be slower. Mine has always been over 140…boy.
Crave It–Craving sweets? Decorate that nursery in pink. Demanding sour pickles? Spend more time brainstorming boy names. I have been craving sweets….girl.
Body Clues–A girl steals her mother’s beauty; a girl causes acne; dry hands indicate a boy; cold feet point to a boy; a larger left breast indicates a girl; dark nipples are signs of a son. I have more zits…girl. My hands are extremely dry…boy. Boobs normal…boy. Nipples normal…girl.
So what is it? What will I have? I find out on FRIDAY!!!

We are half way there! Can you believe it?! It feels like just the other day that I could barely keep my exciting news in. It has been so fun to go through all of this….especially the morning sickness..kidding! But seriously, I do love being a mommy-to-be. It is so amazing to see a growing belly and knowing it isn’t because I haven’t been hitting the gym. I can hardly wait to find out if it will be a girl or a boy!!
