First Year--Paper

Do you know your traditional anniversary presents?  Did you know the first year is paper?  Paper!  Well that isn’t very special….or is it?!

For our first year anniversary I surprised Adam bright an early in the morning with a PAPER gift certificate for a hot air balloon ride.  After all, the first hot air balloon was made out of paper.

The top band of my ring!  Isn’t it gorgeous!!

We finished our magical anniversary celebration by eating the top layer of our wedding cake.  The frosting was good but the cake was a wee bit dry.

One Year Down…Forever To Go

One year ago I was married to the love of my life.  It was such a perfect day.  We were married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Utah temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

I couldn’t have asked for a better day.  Not only was the weather wonderful, the flowers were gorgeous, everything went as planned, the reception was awesome, and we were in the temple with our loved ones, I was privileged enough to marry my best friend.

I love being Mrs. Robertson.  I couldn’t have hand picked a better man for me.  Adam is so much more than I ever dreamed I would get.  He has more qualities than I had checked on my “dream man check list.”

I am the Happiest Mrs. on the Block!

6 Months!!

Today Mr . Robertson and I celebrate our 6 month anniversary! I must say these have been some pretty amazing months!! I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better match for me. He is smart, funny, honest, loving, charitable, kind, and more! He is more than I would have ever imagined I would have.

I love how he can speak Mickey.
I love how he gets teary eyed everytime he hears “The Star Spangled Banner” and “When You Wish Upon a Star.”
I love how patriotic he is.
I love how he will do the dishes without me asking.
I love that he does his own laundry.
I love how he always kisses me goodnight and good morning.
I love how he is equally as excited for the 4th of July and Disneyland as he is for Christmas.
I love that he makes me laugh.

I love that he lets me cook.
I am in love with Adam Robertson.

Happy Anniversary, babe!
–The Mrs.

Finally Mrs. Robertson!

After quite some time of dating the man of my dreams, we finally got married. Even though dating for nearly three years had it’s ups and downs, it sure feels good to be Mrs. Robertson.

Our wedding, reception, and honeymoon was simply perfect. We really couldn’t have dreamed up anything more spectacular. It was the day of every girls dreams. Talk about lucky! We haven’t had a chance to see too many wedding or reception pictures but once we can breathe I will post some! Honeymoon pictures are in my possession but I haven’t had the time to sit down and post some. (I am typing and watching the news…that is how I find time to update the ol’ blog.)

I have been totally busy ever since Adam and I ran out of our reception under three foot long sparklers and jumped in the black Bentley. We have been settling in our house and figuring out where to put everything. This has actually been a lot of fun. I have really cleaned out tons of things. In one day I got rid of 185 shirts, 35 pairs or shoes, 45 sweaters, and that is just to name a few. Adam is sure doing an amazing job on his end. He also has cleaned out a load of stuff.

Once we have gone through everything in our house, my 4 trailer loads of goodies and Adam’s ten years of collections, we are going to have the “yard sale of the century” as Adam put it. May 2nd is the big day! I can hardly wait! Spring cleaning and spring purging couldn’t get any better.

In the middle of this busy post-wedding life, I did take a little time away from Heritage and become and OFFICIAL Robertson. I obtained a new drivers license which contained the ever to beautiful mug shot and weight I wish I was. Then I went to the social security office and survived among the toothless. All this just to change my name. That is just the beginning…I still have Delta, Wells Fargo, United, passport, etc. Oh the exciting things girls get to do that boys don’t!

SOMEBODY! SOMEBODY! SOMEBODY!

Ever since I have been engaged I have had a ring tone that just makes me laugh everytime I hear it. I have even been known to start singing along with it. However, not too many people know what it is from. I thought I would share a clip from Muppets Take Manhattan so more people can enjoy my ring tone that won’t be around much longer :)

The Happiest Place On Earth

Last week my family, Adam, and I went to Disneyland. That’s right! 22 of us headed to the Happiest Place on Earth. It was perfect…perfect weather (high 70′s- low 80′s), not busy (we walked on to most rides or only had a few minutes in line before getting on), we weren’t rushed to get it all in (1 1/2 days at Disneyland, 1 1/2 days at California Adventure, a day at SeaWorld, and one to play at the beach before heading home), there were a lot of characters out and about, and everyone was there…minus little Mia Mia.

Plus, to top all that off, Adam and I got ENGAGED! Story time! Grab your little carpet squares and have a seat. Just as the park closed, we were all walking out to go to Downtown Disney to shop a little bit. Adam said, “Let’s go over and check that out,” and pointed to a statue with a light on it. I told my parents we would catch up with them and we left. He took me to the side of the castle to see Snow White’s wishing well. Adam thought it would be fun to make wishes, so I pulled out pennies for both of us. I made my wish and threw it in. He made his and threw it in. Just as the penny hit the water we heard “DING! DONG!” Then Snow White started singing “I’m wishing! For the one I love, to find me today” PERFECT TIMING! We walked over to the cute little bridge to listen to the rest of the song. Afterward, Adam asked me what I wished for. I wasn’t going to tell him that I wished he would ask me to marry him some day soon so I said, “I wished for a dalmatian.” He knew I didn’t really wish for that but I wasn’t going to tell him the truth. Then he said, “I wished you would marry me.” I replied saying, “I would marry you. I have told you that before.” He said “So you will?” “Yeah! we have talked about this before. I have told you I would marry you.” He said, “Just say yes!” I couldn’t understand why he kept pushing this, “Yes.” He reached into his pocket and said, “Good. Then I can give you this,” and he pulled out the ring. I looked at it and said in my dumb blond way, “Wait! Are you asking me to marry you?” ha ha I didn’t get it! On our way to Downtown Disney to share the new with my parents I said to Adam, “Guess that is what happens when you ask a blond to marry you.” ha ha When we told my parents, my mom starting screaming and my dad started crying. Cute huh!?

So to sum things up….Disneyland was great and I brought home the best souvenir ever!
